6 Days Ndutu Migration (Serengeti & Ngorongoro)

Welcome to Tanzania. Today, you shall be picked from Kilimanjaro International Aiport JRO or Arusha Airport by your adorable safari guide who shall then transfer you to your Arusha Hotel. Immediately, after checking in, you shall relax and be joined by a team from Serengeti Mara Experts for a simple briefing regarding your next 5 days stay in Tanzania. You shall be briefed about what to expect, the travel plan and meal plans among others. Depending on your time of arrival, if you still have enough time, you shall do a simple Arusha city tour, visiting the famous art gallery, the Cultural Heritage Centre, the local market, and the Maasai market at no extra cost. Today, your safari departs at 8am after a great relaxation from your flight. You shall have your lovely breakfast and depart for a 260kms drive for about 6 hours drive to Ndutu region. Just before you arrive at the Ndutu plains, about 3.5 hours after leaving Arusha, you will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Ngorongoro) where you will notice the swift landscape change from hilly forests to plain and green grasslands. Just before you arrive in Ndutu for your half day game drive, you shall stop to have your picnic lunch. The sweeping grassland gradually fades in the Serengeti forming a part of the route for the annual migration of more than 2 million wildebeests and about three thousand zebra, antelope and gazelle through the Serengeti eco system. During the months of last week of December to April, you shall gladly witness the Great migration in this sector. You can witness the calving in the same sector during Mid Jan and Feb, calving happens here and it attracts hordes of predators prying on vulnerable young wildebeest. Besides the great migration, you shall also have the opportunity to witness the African big 5 including lions, elephants, leopard, buffaloes and other animals like hyenas, giraffes, impalas, etc. Your action-packed game drive will end late in the evening by around 6PM. Retreat from this adventure and proceed to your Ndutu accommodation.

Today, you have another incredible opportunity to encounter the beautiful wildlife spectacles of Ndutu. You have the chance to leave the accommodation with your packed breakfast and lunch before you embark on a whole day game drive to witness the great migration and more wildlife of Ndutu. Early morning game drive offers best sightings for early risers and some of the animals you missed yesterday. After a day full of adventure, you shall return to your accommodation for dinner, relaxation and overnight.

Today’s excitement shall be great as you transfer to the most celebrated part of Serengeti – Seronera. You shall have your nice breakfast and depart through a game drive in the Ndutu area for the sightseeing of some of the amazing animals such as zebras, heartbeats, hyenas, impalas. As you may know, Serengeti means endless plains, so be prepared to have impressive game viewing and sightseeing as the grassland stretches out as far as the eye can see and eventually merging with the sky at the horizon is an absolutely breathtaking manner. Serengeti National Park spans to about 14,763 Sq Kms and hosts countless of animals. You will appreciate choosing to visit Serengeti after this game drive as you watch the glorious “Big 5” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard) among many others. During your Serengeti Seronera encounter, you might want to check out the Serengeti “Kopjes” which are massive boulders of granite standing in a sea of grass. Todays adventure exposes you to multiple wildlife as you transfer to Ngorongoro such as lions, hyenas, giraffes, possibly leopards, impalas, heartbeats, wildebeest, zebras, etc. Before arriving at your Ngorongoro accommodation, you have the chance to do other optional activities like Maasai village tour or Ngorongoro crater rim hike at extra cost. Retire and proceed to the accommodation for dinner, relaxation and overnight.

Today is your last day for your Wildebeest migration encounter, you will have an early morning start as you begin to descend into the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera with a massive floor of about 260 km2 and a depth of over 2000 feet. Ngorongoro crater is the best place to sightsee the black rhino in Tanzania. After a descend into the Ngorongoro crater, you shall have approximately 5-hour game drive on the crater floor that will give you opportunity to sightsee some great animals including the African elephant, lions, leopard, buffalo, Black rhino, Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs zebras, etc. After the half-day full of excitement, you shall have your beautiful lunch around the hippo pool before you start to ascend from the crater before catching your drive to Arusha before your arrival by 6:00 PM in the evening with great memories and camera full of memories.
