The tour departs from Arusha after a simple briefing from your tour guide who shall tell you about the journey, expectation and meal plan. After this, depart and begin the drive to Lake Manyara National Park. The journey is a short one that takes approximately two hours, but we’ll pass through the market town of Mto Wa Mbu Village along the way and meet a few other interesting attractions such as the prominent Masai, local towns, etc and before you know it, we shall be at the park.
After a brief stop at the village market, you’ll enter Lake Manyara, National Park and embark on the true wildlife sightseeing. Lake Manyara is truly a photographer’s playground and offers some of the best game viewings in the world, even if it’s one of the smallest parks in Tanzania. You can expect to see many of Africa’s most well-known animals, with the tree-climbing lions a particular treat. These proud predators lounge in acacia trees practically begging to be photographed. If you are a birder, you might find Lake Manyara an absolute delight, with a huge variety of birds on display in the park. Even the novice can expect to be amazed by large flamingo flocks, circling birds of prey, and the brightly colored lilac-breasted roller. You’ll return to Arusha in the late afternoon after all the exciting adventure but, under the right weather, it is also possible to take a guided canoe safari out on the lake for further sightseeing. If you need this arranged, kindly have it communicated early in advance and we shall inform your safari guide about the same.
